Data Pipelines in Wellingborough
A typical operation here runs an ERP, a warehouse system, a CRM, a webshop, carrier portals and payroll. Conforming customer and product identity across those is most of the work, and it is why three departments produce three revenue figures.

Distribution and manufacturing on the A45
Without an IT function, repetitive admin simply absorbs operational staff. The hours recovered are immediately visible because there is nobody spare to hide them.
Wellingborough sits on the A45 between Northampton and the A14, with rail freight capability and substantial industrial estates. Distribution dominates, but there is a long engineering and manufacturing tradition underneath it.
For this work that lands mainly in Distribution & logistics, Manufacturing & engineering and Construction products.

How we work here
What data pipelines looks like in Wellingborough.
The full scope, phases and deliverables are on the Data Pipelines service page. These are the parts that are specific to working here.
-
Definitions before engineering
A workshop that writes down what revenue, margin, active customer and on-time delivery actually mean. Uncomfortable, and the most valuable phase.
-
Operational metrics that span systems
On-time-in-full, cost per drop and stock turn each need data from two or three systems to calculate honestly.
-
History that outlives a system
Retained in a store you control, so replacing an application later does not cost you your trend data.
-
Reconciled every run
Totals and counts checked against source automatically, with alerts when something fails or looks implausible.

Questions
Data Pipelines in Wellingborough, answered.
The questions businesses in Wellingborough ask before they commission this work.
Why do our reports disagree with each other?
Almost always because each applies a different definition, not because a system is wrong. Sales may count an order when placed, finance when invoiced, operations when despatched, each treating credits differently. Until those are agreed and implemented in one place, every new dashboard adds a fourth answer.
